Prof. Chukwuma Charles Soludo, the candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) has emerged as the winner of Anambra governorship election.
Declaring the result, INEC Returning Officer for the election and Vice Chancellor of the University of Calabar, Professor Florence Obi, said the APGA candidate polled a total of 112, 229 votes to defeat his closest rival and the candidate of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP who polled 53,807 votes.
The candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Senator Andy Uba came a distant third with 43,285 votes.
The former Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria won 17 out of the 19 local governments announced so far by the Independent National Electoral Commission ( INEC).
Meanwhile, Senator Ifenayi Uba of the Young Progressives Party (YPP) and Mr Valentine Ozigbo of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) won one LGA each.
Senator Andy Uba of the All Progressives Congress (APC) did not win any LGA.
