Nigerian singer, Akinbiyi Abiola Ahmed known professionally as Bella Shmurda has been deported from Ghana after the Adjabeng Circuit Court in Accra found him guilty of assaulting a doctor with a fork while in quarantine.
The 24-year-old who rose to prominence with the release of the song “Vision 2020”, and a follow-up remix that featured Nigeria rapper Olamide, together with two others were said to have become agitated and att*cked the doctor after being put into quarantine for testing positive for COVID-19.
According to Sahara Reporters, the singer, along with two others, Ramsey Omeofe and Jubreel Abimbola, was deported and fined GH2,000 each. They were also barred from visiting Ghana for a three-month term.
The three were reportedly quarantined and tested for COVID upon their arrival in Ghana, as was required during the pandemic. They were quarantined in an Accra hotel after having their swabs taken and testing positive for the virus, requiring them to stay in quarantine.
They reportedly att*cked the doctor who gave the news to them with a fork, apparently enraged that the development would disrupt their visit to Ghana. The att*ck, it was learned, was part of the trio’s purported attempt to get out of quarantine.
